What we take care of

Japanese website
We fix your existing Japanese pages or build new ones, on your own CMS where we can. After every change we check the pages on desktop and mobile.
X and articles
Posts on your Japanese X account and how-to articles on your blog, written in Japanese from your English release notes and docs.
Japanese inbox
We read Japanese inquiries every business day and send a first reply within one business day. Anything that needs your decision comes to you in English.
AI features (optional development)
Separate development work, quoted on its own: for example, a chat assistant on your Japanese site that answers questions from your docs. VectorMoon builds its own AI product, KnowKnow.
Monthly report in English
With Presence and Complete, we send you a report once a month. It covers your numbers for Japan from Google Analytics, Search Console and X (visits and sign-ups from Japan, Japanese search queries, how your posts did), what we published, what changed on the site, what Japanese users asked, and mentions of you and up to three competitors on Japanese X and in Japanese Google search results. It ends with our proposals for next month.

What’s included depends on your plan. See Pricing.

The English the client sends us. Compare it with the two Japanese versions.

The meaning comes through, but it reads as translated text. Choose Edodana to see what we change and why.

Why each line changed

  1. In the literal version, “Ship” became 出荷, which reads like shipping goods. The rewrite keeps the original’s promise (notes people actually read, in minutes) in plain Japanese and adds nothing the original doesn’t say.
  2. The literal “turns every call into…” is stiff in Japanese. The rewrite lists what you get, as Japanese B2B copy usually does, and moves “in minutes” up to the headline.
  3. 始めましょう sounds like a slogan. 試してみる (“try it”) asks for less, as Japanese SaaS sign-up buttons usually do.
  4. Japanese pricing pages rarely say “seat”. They say 1ユーザーあたり (per user) and 年払い (paid yearly).

A person on our team replies in Japanese, using the answers you approved at the start. Your team gets a summary in English. Questions the approved answers don’t cover go to you before we answer them, and the customer gets a short note that we are checking.

Complete plan · your question this month

Your question

Should we translate the help center next?

Our answer

Not all of it yet. Start with pages on the three topics Japanese users asked about most in September: paying by invoice (3 of 9 inquiries), accuracy in Japanese meetings (2) and where data is stored (2). Japanese pages on these three topics would have covered 7 of the 9 inquiries.

The data storage page needs your answer first: which region stores customer data. We suggest looking at the rest of the help center again after two more months of inquiries.

These pages are outside your plan. If you want us to write them, we will quote them as Flex hours before we start.

Notes on the data

  • Sessions and sign-ups: Google Analytics 4, country Japan. A sign-up is the key event sign_up.
  • Search: Google Search Console, country Japan.
  • Mentions: Japanese posts on X and pages in Japanese Google results that name each product, checked once a month.
  • Minutely, @minutely_example and every figure in this report are fictional.

Pricing

Prices in US dollars. Pick one monthly plan and add the Japanese inbox or extra articles if you need them. One-time work, such as Japan Audit or Site Fix, can be ordered on its own, without a plan.

Every month
One plan, from $450 a month, plus any monthly extras. It starts in the month your website work goes live (for Site Fix, the month the rewritten pages are published), or right away if there is no website work. Month to month, no setup fee.
Once, if you need it
An audit, website work (Site Fix or Japan Launch), or an AI feature. No monthly plan needed. Quoted as a fixed price before we start.
Only when you ask
Extra inquiries, pages, articles or hours, on top of your plan.

Example: you have no Japanese site yet. You pay $2,900 once for Japan Launch, one page. Presence, at $1,200 a month, starts in the month the new page goes live.

What the plans include, exactly

  • Small update: a change to text, images or links on one existing page, about 30 minutes of work. Up to 4 a month. The monthly check covers up to 5 key pages: display, broken links and differences from your English pages.
  • X post: written in Japanese from your English material, with one round of combined edits.
  • How-to article: about 2,000 Japanese characters (roughly 800–1,000 English words) and up to 2 images, based on your docs and release notes, with one round of combined edits.
  • Inquiry: one conversation with one customer. We reply from the answers you approved, with up to 2 replies per inquiry. Anything that needs research or a decision goes to your team in English.
  • A note that we are checking doesn’t count toward the 2 replies.
  • Over the inquiry limit, we forward new inquiries to you with a one-line English summary at no charge. You can also add 5 more a month for +$450, on any plan.
  • Monthly report: visits and sign-ups from Japan (Google Analytics), Japanese search queries (Search Console) and how your X posts did. We read these with view-only access you give us. Once a month we also check mentions of your company and up to 3 competitors on Japanese X and in Japanese Google search results. Deeper competitor research is quoted separately.
  • Work beyond your plan is billed as Flex hours, agreed in advance.

How it works

  1. First Look Free

Send us your site and we reply within one business day. If we can help, within three business days you get a Japanese headline, subheading and button for your homepage, on a one-page English note that shows before and after and explains each change.

  2. Audit Optional · $500, credited against website work or Presence/Complete if you start within 60 days

We review three key pages, your X account and your contact flow, and agree with you on what to measure over the first 90 days.

  3. Build If needed

We fix your Japanese site or build new pages, preferably under /ja/ on your own CMS.

  4. Run Monthly

Twice a month you get an approval packet: Japanese drafts, English summaries, and a list of every claim, number and condition to check. Nothing goes on your site or X until you approve it.

Every month
  1. You send updates, In English
  2. We draft in Japanese
  3. You get an approval packet, 2nd and 4th Tuesday
  4. Only what you approve goes live, On your site and X
  5. You get a monthly report, With Presence and Complete

Then the cycle starts again the next month.

Your team owns the domain and every account. We work through delegated access and never ask for passwords.

Already have a Japanese site that works? Go straight to a monthly plan. Needs fixing? Start with Site Fix. Need a new one? Start with Japan Launch. You can also order website work without a monthly plan. If you add one, it starts in the month your website work goes live (for Site Fix, the month the rewritten pages are published), or right away if there is no website work.

What we commit to

What we do

  • The number of drafts in your plan each month. If we deliver fewer, we make up the difference the next month.
  • If your plan includes the Japanese inbox, within its monthly limit: a first reply within one business day — an answer, or a note that we are checking with your team. Business days are Monday to Friday, Japan time.
  • Approval packets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, JST.
  • Nothing goes on your site or X without your approval. Inbox replies follow an answer sheet you approve at the start. Questions it doesn’t cover go to you in English before we answer them; the customer gets a short note that we are checking.

What we don’t do

  • Promise sales, search rankings or follower counts.
  • Answer at night or on weekends.
  • Translate your product UI or change your app’s code.
  • Run ads, shoot video or make sales calls.

Who runs Edodana

Edodana is run by VectorMoon Inc., a software company in Osaka, Japan. VectorMoon develops KnowKnow, an AI that checks business documents against standards and internal rules, and builds software for clients. We read your release notes and docs the way a Japanese user would, and we can also build AI features for your Japanese site, quoted separately.

Why the name

edo-dana · a merchant house’s branch in Edo

In the Edo period, merchant houses from Kyoto, Osaka and Ise ran branches in Edo, today’s Tokyo, through a trusted manager who reported to the head shop. Edodana works the same way for your company in Japan.

Questions

Who owns the accounts and the content?

You do. Domains, X, your CMS and your helpdesk stay in your name, and we work through delegated roles. If we stop working together, you keep every page, draft, glossary and log.

Our site runs on Next.js. Can you still help?

Yes. We deliver copy and assets ready for your engineers, then check the live pages after they ship. That is the Copy & QA option under Pricing.

How do Japanese inquiries reach our team?

We work inside your helpdesk, such as Intercom, Zendesk or HubSpot, with one seat. Japanese tickets get a JP tag and a reply in Japanese. Anything your team needs to decide comes with an English summary.

Can you publish on note as well as our blog?

Our standard is your own blog. note is a Japanese blogging service. If you use note pro (¥80,000 a month before tax, paid by you) and give us a member role, we publish there too. With a free note account, we deliver the finished post and you publish it.

Can we cancel?

Yes. Monthly plans run month to month. Give us 30 days’ notice.

Do you handle customer questions about refunds, contracts or security questionnaires?

We pass them to you with an English summary. We can prepare Japanese answers from material you approve, but the decisions stay with your team.

Get a free Japanese homepage sample
