What we collect
When you contact us through the First Look form or by email, we receive your name, work email address, company name and website, whether you have Japanese pages, what you are struggling with, and anything else you choose to tell us. The form also tells us which language version of the page you used and, if the link you followed carried campaign tags (utm), those tags. Our web host keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security. When you start filling in the form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks information from your browser, such as your IP address and browser type, to prevent spam. As Cloudflare explains, it also uses this information to improve how Turnstile detects bots, and is itself responsible for that use. We don’t use tracking cookies on this site.
Why we use it
To reply to you, prepare your First Look and, if you become a client, run the work you ask for. We don’t sell your details or add you to mailing lists.
Where it is stored
Form messages pass through Cloudflare (USA) and are stored in our email and a spreadsheet (our intake log), both run on Google Workspace (USA). The site is hosted by Cloudflare (USA). These providers may store data outside Japan and process it on our behalf.
How long we keep it
If we don’t start working together, we delete your details within 12 months of your last message.
How we protect it
Only the people working on your request can read your messages, and every account we use has two-factor authentication.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to show, correct or delete what we hold about you. Write to hello@edodana.com. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the data protection authority where you live. In Japan, that is the Personal Information Protection Commission.
